ITF Is Believed to Reduce Waste from Bantar Gebang

Capacity of the Bantar Gebang Landfill, Bekasi is now starting to diminish. Volume of waste dumped there, will shorten the life of the landfill.

One ITF can accommodate 1,000-1,500 tons of waste every day

Jakarta Cleanliness Dept Deputy Head, Ali Maulana disclosed, to resolve waste problem, the city administration will build an Intermediate Treatment Facilities (ITF) or waste management site.

"One ITF can accommodate 1,000-1,500 tons of waste every day," he told, Thursday (4/14).

March, ITF Sunter Construction Begins

At this time, the waste from Jakarta that disposed to Bantar Gebang every day is reaching 7,000 tons. Using ITF, it could be a replacement site. Its construction could be realized by the end of this year.

It will be built in three locations, such as Sunter, Marunda‎ and Cakung-Cilincing, North Jakarta.

"Perhaps we can start it this year, despite its implementation will fall at the end of this year," he closed.
